General Registration FAQs

  • How do I register?

When registration opens on May 1, there will be a large red button on the home page of this website.  Click that button to get started.  You will complete a registration form and can securely pay the program fee, all online.

  • The registration fee increased in 2017. Why?

Yes, the middle school program increased by $5, the elementary program by $3.  This is the first time we have raised fees since the elementary program began.  It became necessary to cover the rising field expenses.

  • What if I can't pay the program fee at the time I register?

That's okay, you have 3 days from the time you submit your registration to make the payment.  Our system will send you a notice as you approach that deadline.  If after 10 days your payment still has not been received, your registration will be canceled.

  • What if I don't want to pay online or with credit card?

We prefer that everyone use the online payment process but understand that it is not always possible. Please contact the program director for instructions on how to proceed: wybhockey@gmail.com

  • I was charged a late fee.  Why?

Late registrations cause churn for our staff and fees from the uniform company.  Avoid the fee and help us streamline pre-season preparations by registering before the deadline.  Thank you!

  • Can my 3rd grader play?

Yes! 2nd and 3rd graders now have an opportunity to play field hockey through WYBFH.  The program will pilot in 2018.  These younger athletes will get 45 minutes of field hockey experience on Saturdays in September.  Sticks will be provided but additional protective equipment is still required.  If you have a 3rd grader looking for something more, they may register for the full 3-day elementary program upon request.

  • When will I find out the schedule?

The schedule is generally available far in advance of the season.  Go to Team Schedule and Roster > Choose a Team for all the schedule and roster (must sign in).  Coaches will email their teams the first week of August, if not before.

Middle School Registration FAQs

  • What happened to the separate Cards/Wolves registrations?

Starting in 2017, all middle school athletes use the same registration.  Athletes will be assigned to their respective teams after registration is closed.

The cost is the same, regardless of school, team, etc., and uniform purchases are no longer part of the registration process.

  • How do we purchase a middle school uniform?

Starting in 2017, uniforms will be purchased through the WYBFH team store.  If you already have a middle school uniform that fits, you do not need to purchase another.  The link will become available on the Team Schedule & Roster menu when the store opens.

  • Why is WYBFH switching skorts in 2018?

Starting in 2018, both Cards and Wolves will wear black skorts.  It has become increasingly difficult to find the red and royal blue skorts in proper sizes.  By switching to black for both teams, more players can pass theirs down, or reuse them for WYB girls lacrosse.

  • Do I have to pay for a new skort?

If you formerly purchased a red or royal blue skort for the Wolves or Cards team, you can request a black one from WYBFH at no cost.  Simply email wybhockey@gmail.com with the athlete's name, team and size.  This is not available for those purchasing a uniform for the first time.
